TunisiaTourismTV – The site of Sbeitla has an exceptional Capitol made of three contiguous temples.
Many other Roman monuments can be seen on this site of Western Tunisia as well as several ancient churches.
The site also has a beautiful mosaic-lined baptismal font, fortified houses from the Byzantine period, ruins for olive oil presses.
A historic event took place there in 647: the first victory of an Arab army on Tunisian soil, 23 years before the foundation of Kairouan.
The site of Sbeitla is among the largest and best-preserved sites in Tunisia.
