Launched on social medias, the Soli & Green movement carried out its first reforestation action in the area of Kesra, near Siliana, the weekend of March, 9th.
The idea of the movement was born after dramatic fires destroyed 2,000 hectares of forest in the Tunisian North-West during summer 2017.
80 volunteers, either sensitized to environment issues or nature and camping-lovers, have responded to the call. They planted 3,000 trees on the first day. The action will continue throughout March and someday maybe extend to all of Tunisia.
“It’s just a drop of water but it could become a large river!” says Houssem from Soli & Green.
